Sankar Chakraborti
Chief Executive Officer

Sankar is leading Acuité's transformation from being world's first SME focused credit rating agency to a technology and innovation driven full-service Credit Rating Agency and a knowledge company. Sankar has more than two decades of experience in developing and selling data, analytics, risk management, and financial research solutions. In his previous assignment, Sankar played a pivotal role to bring over 14,000 borrowers under the purview of credit rating. During the year 2006-2007, Sankar was based in Tokyo and interacted closely with prospective foreign investors across APAC region. Sankar holds a Masters in Business Management and is a Graduate in Physics.

Sankar is a fan of football and pursues photography as hobby.

Suman Chowdhury

Suman Chowdhury is responsible for analytical operations and is the Chairman of the Rating Committee. Prior to Acuité, Suman has worked in the credit ratings industry in various capacities including leadership roles for around 18 years and is considered a star analyst. He has also worked as a Group Head and Deputy General Manager (DGM) in the Credit Risk Management Group of ICICI Bank, overseeing both SME and corporate portfolios. Suman is an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Kolkata and a B-Tech (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

His hobbies include reading and travelling.

Antony Jose
Senior Vice President
Centre of Excellence & Investor Outreach

Antony leads the Centre of Excellence and Rating Operations. He is responsible for improvements in existing operations and processes with an aim to deliver better quality in our services.
He has an overall work experience of over 18 years of which more than 14 years have been with the Ratings industry. He holds a Masters in Business Management.

Antony is an avid reader, loves to watch movies, and is a swimmer.

Mrinal Singh
Senior Vice President
Business Development

Mrinal leads new initiatives vertical at Acuité and is responsible for liaisoning with the central and state governments. He is also responsible for exploring new markets. Mrinal, in his previous organisation, was part of the team which introduced new products like techno-economic viability reports, credit reports on domestic companies, due diligence for banks and corporates. He was also a part of the core group which spearheaded the outreach of the Performance and Credit Rating Scheme of the Ministry of MSME. Mrinal has a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relation and Personnel Management.

He keeps special interest in sports like basketball and football, apart from music and travelling.

Vinaya Dongre
Senior Vice President
Operations & Human Resource

Vinaya is heading the Operations at Acuité and leads the HR, Administration, IT Infrastructure and Internal Processes. She also leads projects to streamline the sales processes and bringing about optimal productivity and efficiency for the company.

Vinaya has over 2 decades of developing and selling research and credit rating solutions to decision makers in BFSI and Corporate community. In her previous assignment, she also managed a team of 250 sales people. During her two decade long career, she has developed work flow processes and automated systems, organized world class knowledge sharing events and handled marketing and communication activities.


Vinaya is a pet lover and an avid traveller.

Mohit Jain
Vice President
Business Development - Large Corporate

Mohit Jain leads the Knowledge Center Division at Acuité. He is also responsible for Business Development in the large corporate segment. He has over a decade of experience in the areas of credit rating, risk modelling, advisory and product development. Prior to joining Acuité, he worked in the role of product development and risk management solutions. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and is an MBA (Finance).

Mohit enjoys travelling to new destinations.

Karan Mehrishi
Lead Economist

Karan Mehrishi is the Lead Economist at Acuite. He is the author of the business book, "The India Collective: What India is really all about”, published in the year 2014. In the year 2013, he was adjudged a Prize Finalist for the prestigious IE Business School Prize for Economic Journalism in Asia, a Prize sponsored by the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF). His opinions have appeared in the Nikkei Asian Review, The Diplomat, The New Indian Express, Forbes among several other business publications. Karan was a Hearst Fellowship Fund Scholar as well as John Curley Annual Fund Scholar at the Columbia University. He received his MA. in the Business and Economics concentration from Columbia University, New York. He also holds an MBA in International Management from the House of Finance (HoF) at Goethe University, Frankfurt, spending a semester at Tongji University, Shanghai.

Chitra Mohan
Compliance & Company Secretary

Chitra Mohan has been with Acuité since its inception in 2005. An associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), she has over 12 years of experience in the field of secretarial, legal and corporate compliance. Apart from being a Key Managerial Personnel, she is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing corporate and regulatory compliance matters as well as internal policies and procedures.

Her hobbies include reading, listening to music and travelling.

Our exciting journey started in 2005 with rating of bank borrowers most of whom were small and medium enterprises. At that time, credit rating was a concept known only to large issuers of capital market instruments. Since then, like a caterpillar transforms itself into a beautiful butterfly, we transformed to rate bonds, bank facilities of large corporates and issuers across industries. Along came many achievements - SEBI Registration in 2011, RBI accreditation in 2012, 50,000 ratings in 2018, 5,000 Bond and Bank Loan Ratings in 2017, launch of India's first Android and iPhone app to disseminate rating, tamper-proof QR-code-enabled rating rationales, and SMERA Terminal to name a few.

Now is the time to re-emphasize our increasing footprint across all segments of ratings through the launch of our new name - 'Acuité'.

The name has changed. The spirit of upholding highest standards of analytical rigour, continuous improvement, excellence in our processes and quest for innovation remains the same. We would like to re-emphasize that we will continue to work hard to provide independent, unbiased and timely opinion of highest standard.
